"Action! Next Take" is a training scheme offering participants the chance to gain hands-on experience, build practical skills and learn from people working in the industry.
Choose from three introductory 3-day courses:
- Introduction to Post-Production
- Introduction to the Art Department
- Introduction to Production Accountancy
Who can apply?
You can apply if you:
- Are aged 18 or over
- Live in the Liverpool City Region
- Have an interest in working in film and TV
We’re keen to hear from Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent (DDN) applicants.

Discover what happens after filming wraps and explore the world of TV post-production.
The Post Production course will take you through all the roles and tasks within the department. You will be taught by industry professionals who will guide you through the process of taking raw footage and crafting it into finished sequences fit for transmission.
These areas include:
- Ingest
- Media Management
- Craft Editing
- Online/Finishing
- Colour Grading
- Audio Dubbing
- QC (Quality Control)
You will also learn about the technology and terminology used for each of the processes and the supporting roles that are essential in a Post Production environment.
COURSE BREAKDOWN:
Day 1: Introduction - Technology - Media Management - Craft Editing
Day 2: Tracklay/Dubbing Edit - Audio Dubbing Mix - Music integration
Day 3: Colour Grading - Online/Finishing - QC (Quality control)
All participants who complete the Post Production course will take away their completed sequences.
